Laura Valera, M.S.

Laura Valera is a Vice President at Intensity. She applies her expertise, vision, and leadership capabilities in business operations to drive efficiency and to ensure that the team has the resources and tools to succeed.  

Ms. Valera is responsible for the business operations of the organization and applies her deep knowledge of the industry to the continuous improvement in all areas of operations, including staffing allocation, talent development, human resources, vendor management, information technology, and office management. She collaborates with the management team to develop and implement plans to streamline the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of our organization. 

In her role, Ms. Valera demonstrates her commitment to the development and growth of the Intensity team by: 

| Collaborating to motivate and lead a high-performance management team. 

| Directing efforts to attract, recruit, and retain talent. 

| Providing mentorship and coordinating career development programs. 

Prior to working in operations, Ms. Valera acted as consultant implementing dynamic forecast modeling, data mining methods, and statistical analysis to a wide variety of cases, both on litigation and business optimization frameworks. Ms. Valera co-authored the article “Automated classification of atherosclerotic plaque from ex vivo MR images using predictive models”, regarding an NIH founded research project where artificial neural network modeling was performed to predict tissue types on MRI coronary artery specimens.  

Ms. Valera earned her Master’s degree in Economics and Finance at Centro de Estudios Monetarios y Financieros (CEMFI), Madrid, and her Bachelor’s degree in Economics at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, with emphasis in Econometrics and Quantitative Methods.
